Found MUJI では、これまでに30以上の国や地域を訪れ、その土地その土地の生活や文化に触れ、日常の道具や手仕事、その地特有の技術を探す旅を続けてきました。
道中で出会ったものどれもが、これからも残していきたい地域に根付いた文化や習慣、生活の知恵を反映したものだったり、少量・小規模でも連綿と生産を続けている作り手によって生み出されたものだったりします。
未曾有の事態が世界中を取り巻く現在、自由に移動することを躊躇する状況が続いています。そのような時だからこそ、国や地域を隔てず、世界各地の文化や習慣、各地域の素材や手仕事を私たちの普段の生活に取り入れ、豊かな日常に思いを馳せてみませんか。
Found MUJI basicsでは、これまで取り扱ってきたアイテムの中から、毎日のくらしに重宝する道具やいつでも使える日用品を選び直し、ご紹介します。
Found MUJI basics
Found MUJI's explorations have now reached over 30 countries and regions. We love to traverse the globe to get in touch with local cultures and ways of life and find out about their unique techniques and technologies, along with their tools and handicrafts from everyday life. Each of the objects we have discovered along the way has a story to tell. They each reflect the cultures, customs, and life wisdom intrinsic to their place of origin, all features that deserve to be maintained. They reflect uninterrupted crafting traditions, regardless of their quantity or scale.
With the unprecedented state of affairs spanning the globe today, to travel freely is not always an easy option. All the more reason to focus on enriching one's daily life by incorporating customs and cultures across borders and divisions with unique local materials and handcrafted items from around the world.
Found MUJI basics draws on previous collections we have put together to present a selection of items offering convenient solutions to day-to-day needs and wares that may come in handy at just about any time.
